Kapitbahay of Greater New Orleans (KBGNO) is a non-profit, non-stock organization. This organization is registered in the State of Louisiana organized under provisions of R. S. Title 2, Chapter 2 as non-profit organization on November 25, 2003. All monies and properties are utilized exclusively in behalf of the organization and/or members.

The objectives of the organization are as follows:

1. To welcome new Filipino-American servicemen families as well as new civilian Filipino-American families in the New Orleans area.

2. To provide the needed assistance to Filipino American families.

3. To promote a bond of friendship, foster closer relationship, and bring about better support, understanding, and communication amongst members.

4. To promote and preserve Philippine culture among Filipino-American families.
